Letters From Spain
Madrid, Spain · Modern Spanish instrumental fusion
Letters from Spain is a modern Spanish-influenced ensemble creating instrumental music rooted in passion, rhythm, and place. Drawing inspiration from the expressive guitar traditions heard in the work of Guitarra Azul, Johannes Linstead, Ottmar Liebert, and Strunz & Farah, the group blends flamenco, rumba, and Latin jazz into an eclectic, cinematic sound that feels both intimate and expansive. Their music reflects the lineage of Spanish guitar while embracing contemporary arrangements and global influences that broaden its emotional reach. The ensemble brings together the collective artistry of Jesús Pineda, Mario Martínez, Marcelino García, Sebastián Obregón, Rosendo Guerra, and Alfredo Torres, whose interplay defines the project's character. Often described as a six-piece ensemble in spirit, Letters from Spain layers fiery nylon-string guitars with intoxicating percussion, melodic keys & strings, and danceable grooves. Echoing the melodic storytelling and rhythmic vitality associated with modern instrumental voices, the group creates music that moves effortlessly between elegance and energy. Joyful yet emotional. Rhythmic yet lyrical. Each piece is designed to transport the listener. Like a handwritten letter carried across time and distance. A soundtrack for warm nights, open plazas, and moments where music becomes memory.
